Itinerary

• The morning will be dedicated to visit “Casa delle Contadinerie” museum. A place for shared memories, past experiences and where younger generations could learn about the custom of those that came before them. The museum showcases ethnographic material of Bassa Parmense (Parma’s north countryside area) from the 1800s and 1900s. During the visit you will also have the chance to meet Carla Campanini, a local pioneer in the work of wool. After a long time of neglect, she brought back to life Parma’s old tradition of wool craftsmanship. The wool -obtained by a local variety of sheep (Pecora Cornigliese)- is dyed with rustic ingredients such as grapevines leaves, Termarina or Lambrusco’s grapes or chestnut burrs.

• Lunch will be served at Trattoria Sorelle Picchi. Here you will have the chance to enjoy a typical Italian meal composed by a starter and two curses. Of course a selection of salumi and fresh pasta -that we are famous for- will not go amiss.

• The afternoon will be dedicated to discover the other side of Parma, its city. A guided tour of the historical city centre will highlight some of the romanesque beauty of Parma. Among which Piazza Garibaldi and the numerous architectures of Piazza Duomo. But lets’ not forget St. John Evangelist Monastery and St Francis church.
